This link contains several links to games that allow students to make visual connections with fractions.  Kids will love these games!

NCTM Illuminations

I love this interactive site for using number lines!  Students will make early connections needed to add fractions!

Study Jams by Scholastic

This has video tutorials and and quizzes that follow.  The kids will love the interface!

I Know It

There are many great games that cover many math standards but the fraction games are first rate!  Make sure to check out the equivalent fractions game!

Research shows that number sense is the key to students' understanding of mathematics.  These are websites I use on a regular basis to help my students deepen their understanding of numbers and how they can interact.

Estimation180
This amazing site allows gives students pictures and asks them to make estimates. Then the picture will change slightly or students will be use knowledge from the previous picture to make a new estimate.  It challenges students and allows them to make real world connections with their estimations.
Broken Calculator
This has to be the most under appreciated website I've ever stumbled upon!  I highly recommend you look around Math4Love.  It's full of great ideas!  But you have to start with Broken Calculator.  I project a calculator and cross out a number (or two!) and give students a number.  Then they have to use the calculator to make that number, but they can't use the broken number.  For example, I cross out the 2 and give them 18. They can say 6x3 or 15+3, but not 2x9.  You could also do a variation I came up with called "The Button is Stuck!"  In that scenario, the 3 is stuck and they have to make 24.  Or challenge them to use at least three different numbers.  Whatever you do, break the calculator!
Fraction Math Talks
This is another one from Math4Love.  If you're not doing math talks, you should be! Students need to talk about math!  Allowing them to see the visuals, discuss, share, and learn from others helps students deepen their number sense.  If you haven't tried math talks, this is a great place to start!
Illustrative Mathematics
This website is full of great resources!  I use this for number talks.  I project the problems for students think about and discuss.  Check out these great problems that make students think!
